Queen of Kwandun Island
(working title)
Imagine the cruelest, most terrifying creature in
the world. Now imagine falling in love with him.
Kéra believes there is nothing more frightening than a savage Viking warrior, until she becomes the only female shipwrecked on the ragged edge of the North Sea. She washes ashore on an island ruled by fierce creatures who hunt men for food. Kéra is spared—not from mercy, but from need. Their king wants a bride.
Kéra is both a prize and pawn in a deadly game of survival. Armed with only her wits, she learns to wear her gender like armor and swing Scripture like a sword. But in the king’s brutal court, an unexpected tenderness complicates her escape.
Queen of Kwandun Island blends Viking Age grit with Christian hope—a dark, heart-pounding tale of danger, forbidden love, and conviction under fire—perfect for readers of historical fantasy where faith is tested at the edge of the world.

Why this book? Because I kept meeting readers who love fantasy but want a story where God's light contends with real darkness. Setting the book at the end of the 10th Century--the begining of a new millennium--lets me mirror our own present anxieties about human idenity, what makes us human, and who can be redeemed? If your're drawn to survival-driven adventure, Viking grit, and questions big enough to pray over, this book is my offering.
